The forty-four members of the Class of 2017 have officially completed their last day of regular classes and finals and are now preparing for the next chapters of their young lives.  Tonight marks the beginning of the journey with Baccalaureate Mass at 7pm in the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel on the campus of Tri-Cities Prep.  The class will then have a couple of days to celebrate their accomplishments as they take time to relax and relish in their final days as high school students.  There is much to celebrate as the class of forty-four have been offered over $8 million in scholarships to colleges and universities across the United States. Commencement ceremonies will be held on Saturday, June 3rd from 2pm to 4pm in the Grant Activity Center at the school.

The Tri-Cities Prep Mock Trial team won 1st place at the YMCA Youth and Government Mock Trial District Competition in February.  Two teams from the district competition advanced to the state competition that was held this past weekend.  Of the two Tri-City high schools competing at state,  Tri-Cities Prep placed the highest! The YMCA Youth and Government Mock Trial program is a unique blend of law, debate, and drama in which students learn about topical issues and courtroom procedures while sharpening their critical thinking and public speaking skills.  The trials are not scripted and are held in real courtrooms with real judges. Tri-Cities Prep has taken part in the Mock Trial program since 1999, competing at the state-level for 14 out of 17 years.  Unlike sports leagues, the mock trial program does not divide similarily sized schools into competetive leagues.  This means that Prep often competes against schools with much larger student populations […]

The seventeen member Tri-Cities Prep Science Olympiad team took first place on Saturday at the Washington State Eastern Regional Science Olympiad Tournament.  Team members include:  Sarah Carlson, Mary Jane Coffey, Kenny Ireland, Chandler Jenkins, McCall Lovejoy, McKenna Lovejoy, Jacob Meeuwsen, TJ Mercer, Lily Mortensen, Jason Mosqueda, Jordan Myer, Angelina Nacke, Joseph Paoli, James Sall, Christian Shink, Michael Sun, and Colin Sweeney.  All team members received at least one first place medal with one student receiving four.  All team members medaled in more than one event. The team is coached by volunteers:  Jan Hylden, Gregg Lumetta, Michelle Lumetta, and Frannie Smith and assisted by Tri-Cities Prep graduate, Nick Lumetta ’12. The celebration of Catholic Schools began on Sunday, January 29th and Tri-Cities Prep opened it’s doors to the community to share the good news about our school.  Families representing our partner middle schools attended as well as our public middle school community throughout the Tri-City area and even Walla Walla! The 2017 Catholic Schools Week theme of the year is – “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.”  Throughout the week the students will be participating in various activities to honor our parishes, community, vocations, staff and volunteers.  On Friday, all of our Tri-City Catholic schools will unite as one and celebrate Mass at Prep. Tri-Cities Prep announced today that the 44 seniors in the 2017 graduating class have received over 96 college acceptances as of today.  Some of theses student received up to 6 acceptances before the Christmas break.  Over 30 colleges and universities make up the 96 acceptances.  Included in this list are:  Gonzaga, Xavier, Auburn, Emery Riddle, Rutgers and Syracuse. Principal Arlene Jones commented, “These results are a combination of our college-prep academic program paired with the support and guidance of our college counselor and faculty.  It is the hallmark of a meaningful difference that a Catholic, college-prep high school can make in a young person’s life.” To learn more about college-prep academics, SAT scores, athletics and more at Tri-Cities Prep, attend the Prep Expo on Sunday, January 29th at 3:00p.m. or call the school office and ask for Keri Escalera, Director of Enrollment at 509-546-2465.

(The following was taken from a September 9th, 20146 article in the Tri-City Herald.) By: Paul Erickson Tri-Cities Prep graduate Leslie Maya of Kennewick received the Saint Martin’s University Abbot Scholarship. The scholarship is for seniors graduating from Catholic high schools in Washington and is for full tuition, or about $35,000 a year, for up to four years. Maya is active in martial arts and was a member of her school’s BASIC Club and Recycling Club. She volunteers at Kennewick’s St. Joseph Church and has served as an escort at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. She plans to take a pre-professional program in medicine at the school in Lacey.
