Our History/Nuestra Historia

Tri-Cities Prep is the only Catholic high school in the Tri-Cities area. Prep was incorporated in 1994 as “A Catholic High School Under the Patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas” and received the approval of the bishops of both the Spokane and Yakima Diocese. With the guidance of Jesuits throughout Washington State, along with the tireless efforts of many in our community, Tri-Cities Prep was able to welcome its first class of twenty students in August of 1998.  The Ignatian roots of our school are reflected in our mission and guiding documents, and in the leadership of our first President/Principal, Fr. Tom Bunnell, SJ.  Tri-Cities Prep is an independent school owned and governed by a board of directors and is fully approved by the State of Washington and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Tri-Cities Prep es la única escuela secundaria católica en el área de Tri-Cities.
