December 2022
Dear Friends of Tri-Cities Prep:
It’s been another year of record enrollment at our school. One of the many reasons for Prep’s success is the security we provide our students as they go about their daily lives. When I mention security most will think of alarm systems, locked doors, cameras, etc. and while we work hard to provide a secure campus in the physical sense, in this context I am referring to our students feeling secure in their environment because of who they are, knowing they can depend on their friends and teachers, feeling confident in their abilities even when they are challenged, and knowing that their life is a gift and they are enough.
The roots of this security can be found in our Cura Personalis Mentorship Program, affectionately referred to as CPMP. Each student is placed in a group with a faculty advisor, and they remain with this group and advisor throughout their four years at Prep. The group meets weekly for a check-in, and the faculty advisor is able to get to know the students in his/her group on a deeper level so that they might notice when something is “off” whether they’re struggling with academics or something more personal.
On the academic side of things, our high standards remain constant for each student and this is closely monitored through CPMP. Students are well-aware of the goals and responsibilities that come with being a member of the Prep community, and they are expected to work hard to achieve them. The standards and expectations are not moved based on the student’s background, nor are they moved based on the abilities of their peers. Each student is encouraged and challenged to reach his or her full academic potential, and in doing so they are emboldened by their success, creating security and confidence as they move into the next chapter in their educational lives.
Our Campus Ministry programs also feed into CPMP, providing the faith foundation of our school. Through weekly Masses, community service, and a variety of retreat experiences, our students remain grounded in the reality that each human life is equally valuable precisely because we are all created in the image and likeness of God. The beauty and simplicity of this fact is driven home time and time again throughout the high school experience at Prep. Whether our students move on to a large university, a small college, or the military, they know without a doubt that they are put on this earth for a purpose. They are no more or less important than anyone else, and they are a priceless part of the community and world.
Our number one goal at Tri-Cities Prep is to foster the security and well-being of each and every student, and we are doing just that better than any other school in our area. We could not continue this mission without your commitment and partnership, and we thank you for your past support. You can either make a gift online, or mail a check made out to “Tri-Cities Prep” to 9612 St. Thomas Drive, Pasco, WA 99301.
