Dear Friend of Tri-Cities Prep,
What a year it has been! To be honest, I think this will be the first time in a long time where I will truly be celebrating the close of a year and the beginning of a new one.
Although this year has brought enormous challenges to our school and community, it has also produced many reasons to celebrate Tri-Cities Prep.
When schools shut down back in March, our faculty and staff did not miss a beat. Within one week, we had a plan to continue educating our students. Using limited resources, we were able to create a Distance Learning model.
During the summer, we met to create two models: Hybrid and In-Person. Using safety guidelines given to us by the Washington State Department of Health, we successfully began our school year on August 25th. We used the Hybrid Model (1/2 of the student body in-person while the other 1/2 were simultaneously online) until October 9th. On October 12th, we opened our school to the entire student body. We created classrooms out of the gym, multi-purpose room, chapel, and a large unfinished space. We managed to create these “classrooms” using TV trays and banquet tables while keeping to a 6 ft. distance and wearing masks. In short, we made it work.
As a result, we have been able to continue to provide an education that maintains the integrity of Tri-Cities Prep. But these efforts are not without additional costs. Now, more than ever, we need your consideration to contribute to the Annual Appeal. All donations go towards helping educate these extraordinary students. They are worth all our hard work.
It is an exciting time at Tri-Cities Prep. We are experiencing an increase in enrollment and an increased interest from students who want to be part of the 2021-2022 school year. On top of that, we are close to opening our Capital Campaign, which will see the completion of the multi-purpose room, much-needed bathrooms, a Teacher’s Lounge, a new classroom, and additional offices. It’s great to be a Jag!
If you would like to contribute to the Annual Appeal you can send a check to Tri-Cities Prep, 9612 St. Thomas Drive, Pasco, WA 99301 or click on the donate button below.
Even though this has been a year I would rather not ever repeat, I can say that I am more proud than ever of our faculty, students, and families. I hope you feel the same.
With sincere gratitude,
