Dear Friends of Tri-Cities Prep:

As I settle in to my new role here as Development Director, I am thankful to be surrounded by such a talented and dedicated staff and a hard-working student body. The last 22 months have been an absolute grind for staff and students alike, and through it all, the mission of our school remains constant. We have completed a successful Capital Campaign and construction project, and we are looking toward record enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year. None of this would be remotely possible without the generosity of our community of alumni, families, and friends, along with our staff who are so dedicated to our mission.

Exactly one year ago, Pope Francis released his Apostolic Letter Patris Corde which declared the twelve months to follow would be dedicated to St. Joseph. With this in mind, I’ve appreciated the quiet way our faculty has guided our students through the pandemic and how it resembles the qualities of St. Joseph. They truly have answered the Pope’s call, and the success of our students is the result. Joseph teaches us that ordinary people can do extraordinary things, and that is exactly what is happening within the walls of Tri-Cities Prep.

When Joseph learned the news of Mary’s pregnancy, he was faced with a choice: run the other way, or courageously face a seemingly impossible situation head on, and remain light on his feet while he protects his family. The similar creative courage our staff has exhibited over the last two years to lead our students is nothing short of remarkable.

There are many other characteristics of Joseph I see in the culture of Prep: the fatherly love our faculty shows our students in the caring way they lead with high expectations tempered with tenderness and understanding. They teach the value, dignity, and joy of a job well done as a result of hard work. And quietly welcoming the will of God not with haughty explanation, but through humility and leading by example.

The unique environment and culture of Tri-Cities Prep would not be possible without your commitment, and we thank you for your past support. As 2021 comes to a close, we welcome you to consider a year-end gift to our school. You can either mail a check made out to “Tri-Cities Prep” in the enclosed envelope, or donate online at https://tcprep.org/support-prep/support-tri-cities-prep/donatetoprep/. Additionally, if you have any other ideas or ways in which you’d like to support our school, please don’t hesitate to contact me by e-mail at knelson@tcprep.org or by phone at 509-546-2465. I wish you all a blessed Christmas season and happy 2022!

In His Service,

Katie Nelson
